Search engine marketing

Search engine marketing (SEM) means advertising your website in search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing.

Your ad may also be displayed as on other websites through tools such as the Google display network. Most often, these websites will be complimentary to your business but not a direct competitor. For example, a flower shop website may display ads for websites relating to chocolates, weddings or Valentine's Day.

At other times your ad may be displayed on any website where the content matches your industry; for example, a hobby website about making crafts might show ads relating to craft supply stores.

How it works

We create and manage your advertising account, such as Google AdWords. We determine which keywords are most relevant and valuable to your business (i.e. keywords that are frequently searched for and bring the best customers to your site, such as those who make enquiries or become paying customers).

We then create and update online advertisements which are displayed in search engine results pages (SERPs). Each time an ad is clicked on, you pay a small fee which is charged directly to your account. This is called Cost-Per-Click (CPC) advertising.

Your account has a daily budget so that you can cap your spending. The budget can be adjusted at any time to meet your needs.

We continually monitor the effectiveness of the advertising, adjust the keywords and ads as required, and prepare personalised reports so you can see where your money is being spent.
